Review: Sturdy, aesthetically nice, lives up to reviews and pics - I reaaaally hoped that this desk lived up to a.) the reviews and b.) the images, because I really liked its design. It wins on both counts. It is - as others say - sturdy. The wood surface is smooth to the touch. And it gets points for having a metal frame but a wooden surface, as I have some magnetic chargers and a headphone hook that I can put right on its legs. It took me about 3 hours to put this together, and the process was only frustrating because I'm notoriously bad at assembling furniture. The instructions - though they just have visuals and little explanatory text - were still very clear and easy to follow, you just need to look carefully because sometimes they'll show you an image that is giving multiple assembly instructions at the same time. The desk doesn't wobble, and while it initially made slight groaning noises around the legs, I tightened up the screws a bit more, and with that and it sinking into the carpet over a couple of hours, that issue totally resolved. Before this I worked at a desk that was all metal and it was cold to the touch - not fun in the winter; so it's refreshing to have this desk, and it's a lot more spacious than previous ones I've owned. All the right pieces were included, and despite the outer box being pretty beat up, nothing within it was damaged. Just be prepared to vacuum after assembly, because there's a lot of loose styrofoam in the box! I'm very happy with this desk and it's an easy 5-star for me.

**Q: How many inches from desk top to bottom of frame just under the top? I want to be able to slide my chair in without having to lower it, if possible.**
A: If I wish to put my chair under the desk I have to lower it.  It all depends on your height.  However, I don't mind lowering the chair every day.  If is a simple operation.

**Q: Is the top smooth so that you can write on a piece of paper?**
A: No. There are several reviews which say you should write in a notebook or on a folder rather than on a singular piece of paper. It is definitely textured to look/feel like wood

**Q: Can the top board be drilled/cut to place cable routing grommets?**
A: If you're comfortable drilling through sturdy veneered particle board (I suggest wearing a mask) I'm sure that'd be easy to do.

**Q: Does anyone know if you could use the loctek dh7 (https://www.amazon.com/dp/b017xjqwkw/ref=twister_b01c8h01cy?_encoding=utf8&psc=1) on this desk?**
A: I think it would work if you mounted it with through bolts and kept the monitor positioned over the desk. I wouldn't extend the arm out past the edge of the table (suspended in air), I think it would be too heavy and conceivably break.
It is a great value considering the price. I am very happy with mine.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ None of the issues you read on Negative Reviews

I was a little wary from some of the reviews on this desk. First, I was worried about the shipping. It arrived with no issues. It was packed well with styrofoam surrounding all sides of the desk (see pic). There were some small holes in the outside of the shipping box but did not penetrate the styrofoam. Second, I was worried about the writing surface of the desk. While there is a very slight texture to the desktop (see pics), it had zero effect on me writing on it. I took a single sheet of paper and a pen and wrote what I wanted cleanly with no problems. I could barely feel the texture when writing, but caused me no problems. I guess if you are a calligrapher and write with fine tip pens, maybe you have an issue??? I'm really not sure what the issue is with some folks writing on this desk. Third, I was worried about the sturdiness of the desk. Relatively speaking, it is a cheap desk and didn't want to deal with a wobbly desk. I saw there were a few other brands that had a very similar desk, but I went with Tribesigns because the desk weighed about 30% more and supposedly supports 900 lbs on it (competitors were around 300 lbs). It looked like the the additional weight was in the thickness of the table top and the additional support in the legs. I decided if a desk is going to be sturdy, Tribesigns was the best bet. After the desk was put together, no issues at all with wobbling. It does only weight circa 60 lbs so you can bump it and move it more easily than say the desks that weigh hundreds of pounds (that you pay a lot more money for), but that is to be expected. When I write or type of the desk, not a single issue...nice and sturdy. Lastly, I was worried about the quality of the desk. I wanted to attach a metal compact pencil drawer to the particle board table top (see pic). I wasn't sure how the desk would hold to drilling, screwing, and the weight of the drawer but ran into absolutely zero problems. It was a nice addition to the desk. As far as the assembling of the desk, I ran into none of the problems others talked about. The only thing I noticed is the legs will very slightly bow if you tighten the screws really tight (legs are hallow). I didn't tighten mine overly tight...just nice and snug...didn't effect the sturdiness. If I had to complain about anything with this desk, it would be the support bar that hangs under the desk. It takes up about 2 more inches of space and when you add it to the 1 inch table top, you lose 3 inches of the height. I'm 6'3 and losing any height in a desk is kind of a pain, but I decided to work around it...what is losing an inch or two off a 29+ inch high desk top...it wasn't worth me not buying the desk. The other complaint I had is I couldn't find the 63 inch desk anywhere and had to go with the 55 inch. Again, not a deal breaker, but did like that option. Lastly, for my own selfish reasons, I wish there was a support bar that ran at the back bottom of the desk. I could use it as a pedestal but more importantly to hide wires that run on the floor (i.e. power cord from wall outlet to computer, etc.). The desk does not come equipped with any cable management features, so I will have to get creative in how to hide/blend wires with the desk. Overall, I recommend this desk to anyone that is looking for a no frills budget desk. It is not the most exciting (from a features standpoint) but the quality is really good (for what you pay) and looks really nice in the room.
