I have used many different water slide decal formulations over the years, searching for a real replacement for the vintage decals used in homes in the 1940s through 1970s-ish, as I reproduce these (I am not doing much with it anymore but still have a large library of the designs and permission to use them from the original producer). This is, once again, not quite right, as they warn to use the decal as soon as possible after printing, meaning it isn't going to last 60 years in somebody's drawer sonewhere like the old ones, but it is a very satisfactory option for many uses and I think will make a lot of hobbyists very happy when they put it to work! Some items to consider: dark greys may be almost black, only use on flat surfaces {these decals will not conform well to rough or irregular surfaces even with decal setting solution), decals must be cut and trimmed to the exact size of the decal on the paper, complex decals such a circles will only look as good as your ability to trim the white edge off. Because my decals went on an Aluminum substrate painted surface, I always use a clear high gloss lacquer to smooth the surface before applying the decal. This allows you to move the decal into position easier. Then at least 48 hours after applying the decal I apply another coat of high gloss lacquer to seal the decal in place. If a matte or satin finish is required this can be applied once the last coat of high gloss has cured. Probably want to let set for at least 24 hours. Results may differ depending on what spray lacquers you use. That is my experience applying over metal aluminum painted surface. If you are applying over porcelain or plastics I would use the instructions on the back of the carton the decals come in. YouTube also has some Koala decal paper tutorials. Just type in Koala decal paper video and several should pop up. **Q: Will these adhere to eggshells?** A: Shouldn't be a problem. As long as you are using a lite touch and careful. First pic is when I placed sticker, second is a few washes. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Solid 8/10 *by G***I on January 10, 2023* This decal paper is easily my new favorite decal paper to use for projects. The convenience of having ready to go Decals is unmatched. You will no longer need to wait for the Decals to dry after spraying 15 thousand coat of Cancerous sealer before using them. The film itself is not very sticky as opposed to other Decal paper’s I’ve used in the past. I highly recommend using a solution such as “Micro Sol” and “Micro Set” to soften the decals and make them more easier to work with. I won’t explain how to use Micro Sol and Micro Set in this review as their are plenty of YouTube videos to search for giving you step by step instructions on how to use those solutions. The Matte finish threw me off a bit as I am used to working with highly Glossy Decal paper but it’s understandable considering the paper is compatible with Inkjet printers so their needed to be some chances to the paper itself. I would recommend Koala to keep upgrading the product and maybe using a material that will be a bit more Glossy and that will stick better to the surface one is applying the decal to. I would love to see Koala make a Transparent or “Clear” version in the near future. I’ve read some of the reviews and will say to come up with your own judgement once you purchase the decal paper.
