Review: Bright color and easy to apply - I purchased this dye to add a bit of color for a weekend festival and loved it. I used the dye over unbleached medium brown hair and it came out a lovely bright purple/red color! I have fine hair about mid-shoulder and used half the bottle to cover the whole head so you really do get your money's worth. I didn't follow the instructions on the bottle for dyeing, I followed the ones on the website instead. I washed my hair with Herbal Essence color me happy shampoo, then blowdryed it most of the way dry. I put vaseline around my hairline on my skin (but not on the hair) to help prevent staining on my face. I applied using a comb and worked half the bottle into my hair. I put it all under a shower cap and left it for an hour and a half. After an hour and a half I applied heat by blowdrying for half an hour. Then I rinsed in cold water until it ran mostly clear. I rinsed for about an hour before it was only tinted with pink so it takes awhile! It does rinse out a little each wash, but I haven't noticed any staining on my clothes or pillowcases. I also didn't have any staining on my face or hands. After the dye it made my hair feel really soft and healthy. I've been washing my hair every three days or longer if I can get away with it to try to make it last. Would definitely recommend! I found the red tint was still coming out of the water up to 3 months after applying. However, my friend also uses this product on mousy brown hair and the vibrancy stays much longer - 4-6 weeks. **Q: Does it contain henna** A: Yes it does its a very good hair dye **Q: How long does it last** A: Depends what your hair is like. On natural hair it doesn't last more then 5-6 washes. But longer on bleached hair. It is very vibrant and easy to top up to keep it bright **Q: Is it a burgundy hair dye or is it a bright bright red?** A: Vampire Red is a deep red colour, but I wouldn't call it burgundy.
