Microfiber doesn’t appeal to me in the slightest. This is not the least expensive duvet I found but I liked the look better and it’s still very affordable. The zipper on the cheaper (cotton) one I found was white. This zipper is black which is such a nicer look. The material is great quality and washes well. I found different shams that daughter likes but the shams that came with were nice, simple with envelope closing. You can get a cheaper version.
