## Questions & Answers

**Q: WHY do you have to poke a hole in the top of egg when hard boiling? If the egg bubbles out the hole, what's the purpose?**
A: emen7's answer is correct.  Also, 1) If a bit of egg white escapes it's no problem. It's never more than a thin filament for me, but if I warm the egg first, then poke a hole and then suspend it in boiling water hole-side up for a few secs before dropping it in, no egg escapes. Warming it first also reduces chance of cracking since this method calls for dropping the egg into boiling water. Thickness/strength of shells vary a lot, so what works for you now may not work as well on the next egg, or for others. 2) Yes it does make the egg easier to peel, every time for me. 3) What to use? Anything sharp and strong enough. A paper clip works OK even though not sharp. I prefer a push pin or a SIM card removal tool. 4) The air pocket/sulphur thing is pretty cool info; I did not know about that.

**Q: Is this item different from dash rapid egg cooker?  i can not tell the design differnce. why is that?**
A: I'm exchanging my Dash for this Elite Cuisine brand.  The Dash has an unbearable alarm when it's done cooking the eggs.  According to the reviews here, this Elite Cuisine model is silent when it's finished cooking the eggs.

**Q: does this cooker shut off after the eggs are done?**
A: The power and the indicator light turn off when the water is evaporated and the eggs are done. It all depends upon amount of water used.  Follow instructions.

**Q: is it 110 or 220 v ?**

Love this product! It makes cooking boiled eggs a breeze! You simply poke holes in each top of the egg, add a little water in the cooker and let it cook! It cooks just as fast as doing it the old fashion way! When the eggs finish there is a beeping noise to let you know its done and it shuts off. Not too hard to clean at all. Once eggs are done I dump them in a ice water bath and get to peeling! Super easy

Tiny but mighty! I’m so happy with this little egg steamer. It’s super quiet, quicker and cleaner than the normal method of boiling a pot of water to cook the eggs. In just 17 minutes from start to finish, I was able to have 18 perfect hard boiled eggs. None were cracked and they were super easy to peel. The steamer is a lot smaller than I thought as well which is an added plus. I attached a picture with a pint size and quart size jar for reference for an idea of its size. Also, added a video of the end of cooking alarm. It did not stop dinging until I unplugged the cord from the outlet.
