Review: The best poop bag holder does exist - I needed a new poop bag holder and after looking around, took a punt on one of the Earth Rated brand ones from desertcart as it was on a flash sale at less than £5. I like the quality so much I bought a second. The plastic is thick and feels durable. There's a hook on the back for poop bags. The way the dispenser comes apart makes installing the bags easy as there's a vertical slit rather than a hole to try and push the bags through. The dispenser provides more resistance than the usual round holes so you don't end up pulling through more than one bag. Each one came with 15 bags, and it looks like it will hold any brand of bag if Earth Rated isn't your usual preference. The packaging is pretty much just cardboard. The product itself and bags are also made from at least 65% recycled plastic. I'm happy with my purchases and would highly recommend them. Review: Best poo bags! - These poo bags are the best available. You don’t have to worry about your fingers going through the bags as they are a great size, thickness and quality. These don’t have handles but are still easy to tie. We have been using this brand for years as no other brand comes close. These dark green rolls fit in all the poo bag holders we have ever used. They are great value for money especially when bought on sale. They are available in unscented or lavender. Both are fine but I tend to buy the cheaper option at the time ## Features - SUPER ESSENTIAL: Our sleek dog poo bag holder and 900 bags in one convenient set. Since they're much more expensive?!** A: WARNING - GREENWASHING THIS IS NOT GOOD FOR THE ENVIRONMENT only truly green alternative to plastic bags are the compostable bags that meet the EN13432 and ASTM D6400 certifications.  In essence, compostable materials are capable of disintegrating into all-natural elements in a compost environment (for example, and industrial composting facility or a home composting pile) nourishing the earth instead of polluting it. unlike oxo-biodegradable bags, they contain absolutely no plastics and they don’t break down further into micro-plastics either. (In fact, most compostable bags are made out of cornstarch, third-grade spoilt corn, and other plants, normally a waste product left to rot by farmers.) To make sure a brand is truly offering compostable dog poop bags, you need to look out for the: The EN13432 and ASTM D6400 certifications if they are sold in the US or Europe. (Ideally, both, as one denotes the fact that the bags fully degrade in a set time period, and the other certified them for either home & composting facilities).  stay away from scented poo bags if possible, as even the bio ones are counterintuitive when they have numerous additives added to give off artificial scents. AVOID any brands or so called compostable/biodegradable bags that: Use the EPI-technology, have EPI-additives, are oxo-degradable or are biodegradable without also being compostable. Claim to break down in only 30 to 60 days. While truly compostable bags can break down in as little as 3 months, that’s only when the environment meets all the requirements, and not when the bags end up in landfills. A more realistic time-frame for complete degradation is 3 to 12 months. **Q: Has it got the number on the last 5 bags in the roll? One box contained rolls with number the other hasn’t.** A: So attentive to details, so happy you noticed that! We did a trial run with adding numbers to the last 5 bags to see how it worked for our customers and for our production team- we got tons of amazing feedback on it and are currently working on making this a permanent addition to our bags! **Q: Where are these bags made?** A: Thanks so much for asking! Our bags are made in a facility in China that we own and manage ourselves! Our team in China is truly like a second family to us and as such, we respect all North American labour laws, including competitive wages, medical insurance and a clean work environment. We've looked into having these bags made locally but haven't been able to find anyone who can make the rolls we need. We're so grateful for the job that our workers in China do as without them, we wouldn't be Earth Rated! **Q: Can you use any brand of poo bags in this dispenser?** A: The hold can one fit bags on a 61mm roll. I would avoid this holder if using with any bags that aren’t Earth Rated’s new style bags. I have over 400 of their older recyclable bags that I struggle to pull through the small opening room of this new holder. So obviously Earth Rated have redesigned the holder to fit their bags only - extremely frustrating! ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ The best poop bag holder does exist *by R***K on 21 April 2026* I needed a new poop bag holder and after looking around, took a punt on one of the Earth Rated brand ones from Amazon as it was on a flash sale at less than £5. You don’t have to worry about your fingers going through the bags as they are a great size, thickness and quality. These don’t have handles but are still easy to tie. We have been using this brand for years as no other brand comes close. These dark green rolls fit in all the poo bag holders we have ever used. Both are fine but I tend to buy the cheaper option at the time ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ The Gold Standard of Poo Bags *by R***A on 11 August 2026* Let's be honest, nobody gets excited about poo bags... until they buy bad ones. I've been using these Earth Rated bags for years now, and they're the only ones I buy. In fact, I order a big box every 6-12 months and don't even bother looking at alternatives anymore. The bags are thick, strong, and have never once let me down. Unlike cheaper bags, I've never had that heart-stopping moment where a finger suddenly pokes through at exactly the wrong time. Fellow dog owners will know that's a level of trust that's hard to put a price on! They're also large enough to handle multiple garden clean-up duties in a single bag, which makes them really practical and helps reduce waste. One feature I absolutely love is the little sticker that appears near the end of the roll. It lets you know you've only got a few bags left, so you're never caught halfway through a long walk discovering you've just used the last one. It's such a simple idea, but incredibly useful. The dispenser deserves a mention too. After a few orders I now have one attached to every lead I own. Some products become repeat purchases because they're exciting. These have become a repeat purchase because they quietly do exactly what they're supposed to do, every single time. Not the most glamorous thing I've ever reviewed, but easily one of the most dependable. ## Frequently Bought Together - Earth Rated Dog Poop Bag Holder with Bags, Durable and Guaranteed Leakproof, Lavender Scented, 1 Dispenser and 900 Count - Earth Rated Hypoallergenic Dog Wipes, Cleaning and Odor-Controlling Grooming for Paws, Body, and Butt, Perfect for Puppy and Adult Dogs, Lavender Scent, 400 Count - Pet MD - Dog Ear Cleaner Wipes - Otic Cleanser for Dogs to Stop Ear Itching, and Infections with Aloe and Eucalyptus - 100 Count --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.co.za/products/49403468-dog-poo-bag-holder-with-dog-poo-bags-rolls-durable](https://www.desertcart.co.za/products/49403468-dog-poo-bag-holder-with-dog-poo-bags-rolls-durable) --- *Product available on Desertcart South Africa* *Store origin: ZA* *Last updated: 2026-10-26*
