It also remembers the brightness mode that you previously had it set to and has a red led that comes on when battery is very low. Lower light settings can still be used till you get round to charging it up. A green light, when fully charged, comes on... which is very useful too. You do have to shove the charge cable totally in when charging though, because otherwise it can falsely show fully charged green at the start. The fancy other led display lights require a triple press of the on button and have mostly entertainment use, but i imagine that if there were burglars about, putting the red and blue flashing led light mode on, might effectively scare them off! I have it in my trouser pocket pretty much all the time. It's bright enough for general use, seeing the dog in the garden and finding my way and the side lights are a very useful feature. The glow in the dark case is useful.
