The Rip Surf has a flex groove to allow the twisting, to me this flex groove has a smoother, less wiggly type of a ride. The actual motion used to generate speed is pretty close to the motion used in generating speed on a surfboard. I'm a surfer, so this one is by far my favorite. **Q: Is it possible to do a snap turn on this board like a surfboard? Do the wheels allow you to do this?** A: Yes, it moves mostly like a surfboard. The wheels allow you to do most tricks you can do on a skateboard and snap turns. I have one and I can turn pretty sharply and it almost glides when you snap turn. **Q: what makes it better than a normal ripstik** A: For me, the ripstik requires too wide of a stance.
