Before, you could feel the heat radiating from the roof when the sun was out, almost too hot to touch. Now under the same conditions, the roof is warm to touch, but you don't feel that heat bearing down, the shed is also relatively cool, more like an ambient temperature than a hot box. Sticks well, and once you apply pressure, it's on there good, easy to cut with a snap-off blade knife. I have also noticed a reduction in sound from the traffic, it seems more focused on the back wall nearest the road which hasn't been insulated. Now need to save up to buy a second roll to finish off the shed. I'm fairly confident it will help keep heat in during the winter. However it must not be fitted in close proximity to extremes such as exhaust manifolds or turbo units. **Q: What are the U and R values? Does it offer greater thermal insulation compared to similar products?** A: A closed cell foam liner is rarely rated with an R-value like thick insulation layers as this is not its primary function. A foam liner is designed to soundproof and prevent thermal transfer through a steel panel and prevent dramatic temperature swings and lower the possibility of condensation formation. In this instance where the application limits the thickness you can use (so you cant increase R with a thicker layer), you want something with good thermal resistance but also able to contour and follow the shape of the van. Closed cell foam is great for this with a thermal resistance of 0.034 W/m.k If you wish to have heat retention with a good r-value in the van you must use a thicker insulation over the liner. Our recommendation in a vehicle environment is to use a recycled plastic PET type such as Dodo Thermo Fleece which is safe to handle and will not absorb moisture in high humidity conditions like some wool based products. Despite this, strongly recommend fitting Dodo Thermo Fleece after an initial closed cell foam layer such as Dodo Thermo Liner. **Q: Is this suitable for insulating a fiberglass boat?** A: We have a 13M fiberglass boat and have fully insulated it over several seasons. No more condensations at last. But, it's a big job, we used DoDo insulation and others as difficult to get at times. Started with 7mm thick, which was not good enough. You must have a min of 12mm to stop condensation at around zero C. Where we could we used 20mm and used spray foam insulation in the areas we could not get to with stick on.
