And rated this quite low because of this...there's a technique which requires a tot to press down on the silicon rim when drinking and this releases the liquid... If they've used a sippy cup then transition to this isn't easy...hope that helps... **Q: Are these cups suitable for hot drinks?** A: I work in food contact material safety, please don't use this (or any other plastics) for hot drinks unless it says it's safe on the packaging as chemicals (BPA is not the only compound to be cautious of) can leech out into the drink and therefore into your child! It's unlikely this cup has been tested for safety with hot drinks as it's marketed for toddlers.
