I used to spend so much money going to a recording studio, but with this device, I can record my music MYSELF!!! High quality; full, rich sound; and so easy to use! From Day 1 I had a recording studio in my home! Now I can see my producer for an hour or two and walk out with completed cd’s. I wish I had had one of these 30 years ago!!! Review: Great for on the go recording without a computer - This was a gift so I don't have too much time using it, but I've heard what my teenager has done with it, and I was impressed! Don't forget to get a memory card. Also, a precision touch pad pen is recommended. Don't get the standard type, you need to get the sharper type, as the screen is small and the areas you have to touch are small. This unit is powerful though and is great for taking to a friend's house to collaborate, or just to record without having to use a computer. ## Features - EIGHT TRACKS WITH A TOUCHSCREEN – Records up to 8 tracks with two XLR/TRS inputs, a full-color LCD touchscreen, and DAW-style editing tools for cutting, copying, looping, and mixing without a computer. - DRUM LOOPS, SYNTHS, AND MIDI ALL BUILT IN – Provides a built-in rhythm section with 150 preloaded drum loops across multiple genres and 18 FM synth instruments playable via MIDI keyboard or programmed on the touchscreen. - USB-C INTERFACE AND DAW CONTROL IN ONE – Functions as a stereo USB-C audio interface and DAW control surface, with transport controls and faders for seamless integration with your favorite recording software. - PHANTOM POWER AND HI-Z ON BOTH INPUTS – Both inputs offer 48V phantom power for condenser microphones, and input 1 features a Hi-Z switch for plugging in guitars and basses directly without a DI box. - FIVE HOURS ON FOUR AA BATTERIES – Runs up to 5 hours on four AA batteries, making the R12 the perfect portable recording studio for musicians who want to capture ideas anywhere inspiration strikes. ## Technical Specifications | Specification | Value | |---------------|-------| | ASIN | B0BFFSCVN6 | | Best Sellers Rank | #17,160 in Musical Instruments ( See Top 100 in Musical Instruments ) #13 in Digital Multitrack Recorders | | Brand | Zoom | | Brand Name | Zoom | | Color | Black | | Connector Type | XLR, USB | | Customer Reviews | 4.2 out of 5 stars 81 Reviews | | Item Dimensions | 12.44 x 6.5 x 2.76 inches | | Item Highlight | 2 XLR/TRS Combo Inputs, Touchscreen, Onboard Editing, Effects, Drum Loops, Battery Powered | | Item Type Name | Digital Multitrack Recorder | | Item Weight | 16 ounces | | Item dimensions L x W x H | 12.44 x 6.5 x 2.76 inches | | Manufacturer | Zoom | | Material | Stainless Steel | | Model Name | R12 | | Model Number | R12 | | Number of Items | 1 | | Number of Packs | 1 | | Part Number | ZR12 | | UPC | 884354027568 | | Unit Count | 1 Count | | Warranty Description | 1 year - replacement. | ## Product Details - **Brand:** Zoom - **Color:** Black - **Item dimensions L x W x H:** 12.44 x 6.5 x 2.76 inches - **Material:** Stainless Steel - **Model Name:** R12 ## Images ![R12 Portable Recorder for Musicians with 8 Tracks, FX & Drum Loops - Image 1](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/71dM+VcPD7L.jpg) ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Best recorder EVER! *by D***T on August 28, 2026* This recorder is AMAZING!!!
