Product Description API Freshwater Aquarium Plant Fertilizer Root Tabs promote strong roots. Without proper fertilization aquarium plants gradually yellow drop their leaves and die. Aquarium plants require essential nutrients for vibrant growth. Formulated to supply key nutrients, including iron and potassium and carbon to help new aquatic plants get off to a vigorous start and to keep established plants flourishing. These nutrients are consumed over time in the aquarium and must be replenished for plants to thrive. Add tablets monthly to ensure best results. Safe for use with tropical fish. Ingredients Nitrogen, Phosphate, Soluble Potash, Iron, Directions Add 1 tablet for each 194 square cm. of gravel surfaces. Push midway into bed. Safety Warning Use as directed. Keep out of reach of children and pets. Store in a cool, dry place. Do not ingest. If swallowed, seek medical attention immediately. Review: Make sure put deep to stop them clouding tank otherwise good so far - Was bit skeptical about these specially with some bad reviews however having planted aquarium I need something for my plants to thrive. At first when I put them in yes they start to dissolve so have to be quick but then noticed my tank started to go bit cloudy. Got up this morning and my tank has cleared up know these don't work fast but hopefully my plants will start getting something as my swords leaves are starting to curl. I did use once before the liquid from a pet shop and sent my nitrites and nitrates through the roof which did kill few my big clown loaches and endlers. These are good if read the instructions I dug mine about an inch so that's prob why I had some clouding,but so far so good in my tank now I have lemon blue eye bristlenose and blue pearl shrimp and as said they still alive.
Review: Perfect - Works well. Cheaper than petsathome. Plants seem healthy and bright green. Easy to unpacked. Size is as expected. I also used co2, co2 booster and fertiliser

**Q: can i use them in sand**
A: Yes they're actually better in sand because they won't fog the water up at all. Just try to place them directly under plants.

**Q: Are these safe to use in a shrimp tank**
A: yes safe in any aquarium

**Q: Can you use these alongside api leaf zone or is it one or the other?**
A: Excellent

**Q: How long do they last before having to add a new one?**
A: That will depend on how heavily your tank is planted and how big your plants are. I have three large amazon swords and put one of theses in to the root system of the plant at least once every 6 months. I have a sand substrate but the plants do have a soil ball around their base . Ii hope this has helped
