My dog really enjoys eating it, and I’ve been happy with how he does on it. His bowel movements have been healthy and consistent, which is something I really value when choosing his food. I also like that it feels like a clean, straightforward diet. I feel good knowing I’m feeding him something with quality ingredients rather than a bunch of unnecessary extras. It costs more than I’d ideally like to spend on dog food, but seeing how much my dog enjoys it and how well he does on it makes it worth the splurge for us. Review: My dog is obsessed! - My dog is an extremely picky eater who normally seems fairly unmoved by dry food. That is, until I started adding these nuggets, now she gets very excited for her daily meals. The texture is easy to break up and the bag is a perfect size to keep her stocked through the whole month. I'm also very happy about the quality of the nuggets, as well as the healthy ingredients. I also appreciate the options when it comes to eatability - I've only actually hydrated one of them initially, one whole nugget is the perfect size to crumble on top of her bowl as is. ## Features - REAL BEEF. I have a 13 pound dog and she gets 3.5 nuggets to maintain her weight. I have to say, that my beautiful dog had a tearing problem with terrible face stains for over a year. I tried everything to no avail. I soon as she started eating this food, they went away and have not returned. She is now the beautiful dog that we knew she was inside. In a perfect world it would be $10 a bag, but it is really good quality and we are committed to using it. She also was very reluctant to eat all the different kinds of foods that we try. She gobbles this up in five seconds and loves it. **Q: what is the protein/fat/fiber %?** A: For beef, here is the break down. You can see specifics of each flavor on the website direct. Guaranteed Analysis:Crude Protein (min) 48%Crude Fat (min) 38%Crude Fiber (max) 1%Moisture (max) 3%Ash (max) 6.4%The website direct is: http://www.primalpetfoods.com/product/list/c/14 **Q: How much of this would you feed daily to a 6 lb dog? How large are the nuggets? Thank you!** A: The size of the nuggets (all formulas) is approx. 2"long, 1"high, 1" deep. The amount to feed changes based of formula, altho' not by much. For example, beef is denser than chicken so you feed a little less. Our girls (poodles) are 4.5 lbs and 8 lbs. I went to the primal site (primalpetfoods.com) and they have an easy calculation table of how much to feed based on weight, formula and whether you want to increase, decrease or maintain weight. Our 4.5 girl gets one block of chicken 2x a day mixed with water making it soft. Our girls love chicken, beef, lamb, haven't really tried other formulas. It is an excellent nutritional food. Hope this helps, good luck. **Q: Is it suppose to have bugs?** A: I just opened my 1st bag and dumped it out. NO BUGS! 14 oz. had 58 nuggets! ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Pricey, but worth it for my dog *by L***E on September 1, 2026* This is definitely a pricey dog food, but I honestly think it’s worth it. I have a four month old Yorkie and an eight year old Shi-Tzu. The 8 year old has a lot of allergies. Now the puppy wants it, too. From what I have read it is ok to give it to both of them. I was having to cook all the food my Shi-Tzu could eat and now I don't have to cook as much. ## Frequently Bought Together - Primal Freeze Dried Raw Dog Food Nuggets, Beef, Complete & Balanced Meal, Also Use as Topper or Treat, Premium, Healthy, Grain Free, High Protein Raw Dog Food, 14 oz - Stella & Chewy's Freeze-Dried Raw Dinner Patties - Chicken Recipe - High Protein Grain-Free Puppy & Dog Food - Perfect For Picky Eaters - 5.5 oz - Stella & Chewy's Freeze-Dried Raw Duck Duck Goose Meal Mixers - Dog Food Topper and Mixer - Made with 95% Cage-Free Poultry, Organs & Bone - Perfect for Picky Eaters - Grain-Free - 18 oz --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.co.za/products/4886132-primal-freeze-dried-raw-dog-food-nuggets-beef-complete-balanced](https://www.desertcart.co.za/products/4886132-primal-freeze-dried-raw-dog-food-nuggets-beef-complete-balanced) --- *Product available on Desertcart South Africa* *Store origin: ZA* *Last updated: 2026-10-21*
