I am using them for the last 7 years and I have changed 2 in total and now I am using the 3rd. With overuse it last usually 3 years. You will se colour start leaving after couple of years. The tastier water ever. **Q: Do you have to secure with tape?** A: No. You just put on attached faucet fitting and mount filter. **Q: Does this only go on the type of tap shown in picture** A: It comes with several different adapters so that it should fit over your tap as well.
