Review: Fantastic walkaround lens - I've been debating about a new prime lens for my Fuji cameras for a while now, but what focal length, to choose: 23mm, or 27mm? There are many choices of manual focus lenses for the Fuji X mount, but I like my auto focus lenses. When I found that TT Artisans had produced a compact 27mm auto focus lens at an affordable price, I bought it as soon as it became available. Let's get the negatives out of the way first, it doesn't handle flare very well, the aperture ring can be fiddly as there are only two knurled places to adjust the aperture, and the lens is not waterproof. All very minor irritations, simply overcome, don't take the lens out in the rain, or point it at the sun!! The lens itself is compact, lightweight, and the build quality is of a decent all metal construction. Being as tiny as it is the lens is ideal for the smaller Fuji bodies, the X-A10, X-E1, 2, 3, 4, and the X-T10, 20, 30 for use as a street, or travel lens. I wanted the lens for my Fuji X-T20, to be used as a "walk about" travel lens, the 27mm focal length equates to approximately 40mm in full frame terms. Performance wise the lens offers very good image quality, just look at the detail on the quayside mooring bollard, this is a JPEG image shot wide open at f/2.8. The ornamental bird taken again wide open at f/2.8, ISO 1000 indoors, without flash, and the bokeh is fine. The auto focus is marginally slower than some of my other "fast" Fuji primes, but the face / eye detect seems to work well. The front lens cap is very tiny, easy to lose, however the rear lens cap has contacts, and a USB-C port to enable updating the lens, what a great idea. The lens is an absolute gem, a real bargain at the price, and I am very pleased with the performance. Definitely recommended, well done TT Artisans. Review: Lightweight, competent and fast quality budget lens - Superb lens, better than the equivalent Fuji original. Easy to use - it can make your mirrorless almost point and shoot. I have it for my XH1 and it does a fantastic job with colour rendition, speed of focusing, contrast. Absolutely nothing i can say bad about this lens. They are so affordable, why not have this small lens in your bag for the close quarters stuff? I do have quality glass made by fujifilm and this does compare very well. Very lightweight and competent. ## Features - ULTRA-COMPACT & LIGHTWEIGHT: Weighing just around 93g and measuring only 29mm thick, the TTArtisan 27mm F2.8 is a compact pancake lens designed for Fujifilm X-mount cameras. Its slim, lightweight design slips easily into a pocket or small camera bag, making it an ideal everyday lens for travel, street photography and casual shooting. - NATURAL 41MM-EQUIVALENT FIELD OF VIEW: On APS-C cameras, the 27mm focal length provides an approximately 41mm full-frame equivalent field of view. Sitting naturally between 35mm and 50mm, it offers a perspective close to human vision, making it well suited to street photography, documentary-style shooting and everyday moments with a natural, familiar look. - FAST & QUIET STM AUTOFOCUS: Equipped with an STM stepping motor, the lens delivers smooth and quiet autofocus for a more discreet shooting experience. It also supports your camera's face and eye-detection autofocus, helping you capture people and everyday moments with greater speed and accuracy. - ALL-METAL BUILD & CLASSIC CONTROLS: Both the lens barrel and mount are made from aviation-grade aluminium alloy, providing a solid, durable feel with a classic retro-inspired finish. A click-stop aperture ring offers tactile feedback as you adjust settings, making it a great choice for Fujifilm photographers who enjoy a more hands-on shooting experience. - 5-GROUP, 6-ELEMENT OPTICAL DESIGN: The optical construction comprises 6 elements in 5 groups, including 2 high-refractive-index elements to help reduce chromatic aberration and control spherical aberration. The 7-blade aperture also contributes to smooth, pleasing background blur, adding a softer look to portraits and close-up subjects. ## Technical Specifications | Specification | Value | |---------------|-------| | ASIN | B0BJZZHPXR | | Best Sellers Rank | 15,772 in Electronics & Photo ( See Top 100 in Electronics & Photo ) 90 in Camera Lenses | | Box Contents | / | | Brand | TTARTISAN | | Brand Name | TTARTISAN | | Camera Lens | 27mm lens with an equivalent focal length of 41mm in 35mm format, maximum aperture of f/2.8 and minimum f/16, covering APS-C format. Focus is sharp, F2.8 produces great images on a wide range of lighting conditions. It has 2 noticeable weak points that have been mentioned by other reviewers as well. 1. Vignetting in low light. 2. Flare effects. Example of both in the picture attached. Still, for this price is a great lens. I like it. ## Frequently Bought Together - TTartisan 27mm F2.8 Autofocus Lens, Compatible with Fuji X-Mount Cameras XS10 X-A5 X-A7 X-M1 X-M2 X-E4 X-T1 X-T10 X-T2 X-T20 X-T3 X-T4 X-T100 X-T200 X-T30 X-Pro1 X-Pro2 X-Pro3 X-E1 (Black) - SanDisk 128GB Extreme PRO SDXC UHS-I Memory Card - C10, U3, V30, 4K UHD, SD Card - SDSDXXD-128G-GN4IN - Wasabi Power NP-W126, NP-W126S Battery (2-Pack) USB-C Dual Charger for Fuji X-T100, X-T200, X100F, X100V, X100VI, X-S10, X-A5, X-A10, X-E4, X-Pro2, X-Pro3, X-T1, X-T2, X-T3, X-T10, X-T20, X-T30 II --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.co.za/products/484730737-ttartisan-27mm-f2-8-stm-af-pancake-lens-for-fujifilm](https://www.desertcart.co.za/products/484730737-ttartisan-27mm-f2-8-stm-af-pancake-lens-for-fujifilm) --- *Product available on Desertcart South Africa* *Store origin: ZA* *Last updated: 2026-10-06*
