You could make your own bokashi with rice or wheat bran. Only then you would need to add em-1. What you did is activated em-1. It does contain a small amount of compost in it to raise it's NPK so that it could be used as a fertilizer as well. I think it says to sprinkle it generously. But that isn't really helpful.
