A: the buckle to pin strap is 3 and a half inches and the long strap on the other side is 4 and three quarter inches

A: I think the glass is plastic of some sort. The last one I had shattered after being pressed against something hard and it went into lots of tiny blunt specks that weren't sharp at all. Not like glass but don't quote me on that.The width of the strap at the watch end is about 2cm and tapers very slightly towards the fastening end. Hope that helps.
