Immediate access to media libraries throughout Adobe CC, especially Premiere Pro. Not the fastest one out there, but for that price? It goes right into your m.2 port. It has a quality feel to it, nothing shaky or too sturdy. Fits perfect and safe. Enabling it as a system drive took me like 5 seconds. My computer switches on in 10seconds and I open chrome with 30 tabs loaded from memory 2 seconds later. Want something more? You can pay over 200quid for a new generation Samsung drive. This one does the SSD job perfectly and is cheap as chips for the storage. I would recommend it to any user, even in a professional environment. No need to overpay. Review: A decent drive for the money - Be aware that this is a SATA mode m.2 drive, and thus performs like a normal SSD- hundreds of megs per second rather than gigs as you'd expect from an NVMe drive- and no crazy queue depth etc.. However, that's what I wanted, as it's a lot more affordable than my screamingly fast NMVe boot drive- I just wanted a second m.2 to use as a Steam drive. This is a good quality drive for a sensible price, from a reputable manufacturer. Crucial are often a safe bet, and this is a perfectly decent bit of kit. Edit: Forgot to say- don't install the "free" Acronis software. It'll clone your drive, but it's really hard to get rid of, and may brick your Windows install in the process, or do something more subtle like mess up restore points capabilities. Google and you'll see what I mean. There are loads of other good free choices, like the Easus and AOMEI and even the Macrium stuff, as well as good open source options (like nice Linux minidistros with various software, or even good old "dd"). Use anything but the Acronis software, if you want to clone an existing drive. ## Features - Sequential reads/writes up to 530 / 510 MB/s on all file types - Random reads/writes up to 92k / 83k on all file types - Over 90x more energy efficient than a typical hard drive - Accelerated by Micron 3D NAND technology - Dynamic Write Acceleration delivers faster saves and file transfers ## Technical Specifications | Specification | Value | |---------------|-------| | ASIN | B01L80DH1Y | | Box Contents | Crucial MX300 1TB SSD | | Brand | Crucial | | Brand Name | Crucial | | Cache Memory Installed Size | 275 | | Color | Blue | | Compatible Devices | Desktop | | Compatible devices | Desktop | | Connectivity technology | SATA | | Customer Reviews | 4.6 out of 5 stars 1,825 Reviews | | Data Transfer Rate | 530 Megabytes Per Second | | Digital Storage Capacity | 1 TB | | Digital storage capacity | 1 TB | | Global Trade Identification Number | 00649528778314, 06953041213837 | | Hard Disk Description | Solid State Drive | | Hard Disk Interface | Serial ATA-600 | | Hard disk description | Solid State Drive | | Hard disk interface | Serial ATA-600 | | Hard-Drive Size | 1 TB | | Hardware Connectivity | SATA 6.0 Gb/s | | Installation Type | Internal Hard Drive | | Item Weight | 0.02 Pounds | | Manufacturer | Micron | | Manufacturer Part Number | CT1050MX300SSD4 | | Media Speed | 510 Megabytes Per Second | | Model Name | Crucial MX300 M.2 | | Model Number | CT1050MX300SSD4 | | Network Connectivity Technology | SATA | | Number of Items | 1 | | Product Warranty | 3 year limited warranty | | Read Speed | 530 Megabytes Per Second | | UPC | 771591313182 649528778314 | ## Product Details - **Brand:** Crucial - **Colour:** Blue - **Compatible devices:** Desktop - **Connectivity technology:** SATA - **Digital storage capacity:** 1 TB - **Hard disk description:** Solid State Drive - **Hard disk interface:** Serial ATA-600 - **Hard disk size:** 1 TB - **Included components:** Crucial MX300 1TB SSD - **Installation type:** Internal Hard Drive ## Images ![Crucial (Discontinued in 2017) MX300 1TB Internal SSD (3D NAND, SATA, M.2 2280) CT1050MX300SSD4 - Image 1](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/71zfdzfpBfL.jpg) ![Crucial (Discontinued in 2017) MX300 1TB Internal SSD (3D NAND, SATA, M.2 2280) CT1050MX300SSD4 - Image 2](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/61P-6nF8ZQL.jpg) ![Crucial (Discontinued in 2017) MX300 1TB Internal SSD (3D NAND, SATA, M.2 2280) CT1050MX300SSD4 - Image 3](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/81uFBZ84HhL.jpg) ![Crucial (Discontinued in 2017) MX300 1TB Internal SSD (3D NAND, SATA, M.2 2280) CT1050MX300SSD4 - Image 4](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/814l-WDoGgL.jpg) ![Crucial (Discontinued in 2017) MX300 1TB Internal SSD (3D NAND, SATA, M.2 2280) CT1050MX300SSD4 - Image 5](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/715m5vFZWfL.jpg) ## Available Options This product comes in different **Size, Style** options. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ FAST, reliable, and horrendously inexpensive for the QUALITY you get *by K***A on 20 December 2016* Windows 10 installed in less than 10 minutes. Had hoped to clone the original hard drive onto it but found that that failed with the Acronis software despite trying different methods. In the end I used the MSI recovery software and put the operating system on this drive and the rest of the stuff on the other hard drive( which I also replaced with an 'old' ssd that I had from my previous laptop). Now boots in seconds and only slowed down by the time it takes to enter my pin to login to windows. --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.co.za/products/48259458-crucial-discontinued-in-2017-mx300-1tb-internal-ssd-3d-nand](https://www.desertcart.co.za/products/48259458-crucial-discontinued-in-2017-mx300-1tb-internal-ssd-3d-nand) --- *Product available on Desertcart South Africa* *Store origin: ZA* *Last updated: 2026-10-04*
