If you are using it as an etch at have a look at Edinburgh etch which uses mixed Ferric Chloride and Citric acid. This works far better and produces deep clean etches. **Q: Does it etch silver** A: I only use it to etch copper printed circuit boards. Sorry I can't answer your question about silver **Q: will this etch damascus steel** A: I've only used this to etch copper I'm afraid.
