Do they fit over the battery posts?** A: Not designed to. They go on the bolts that tighten the clamps. I'm sure I once read that they can be had in different diameter holes but don't hold me to that. Mine were fractionally too small so I just drilled them out. **Q: When you leave this connected to the battery without connecting to the CTEK charger, does it still work and will it drain the battery just leaving it** A: I have mine permanently connected to the batteries of two cars. The device uses so little power I would think it will be months before it flattened a battery. The battery will self-discharge long before these use up the battery charge state. **Q: Do the flashing indicator lights drain a battery that is not used for quite a while - say a boat laid up over winter? Or is their power drain minimal?** A: LEDs draw a very small amount of energy. I have these fitted to my motorcycles which can be laid up for two or three months. I have a battery in a Jan 2011 BMW 1300CC and it's 'normally' on the ctek if not on the road and the original battery is still perfect.The red light flashes possibly within a week of full charge so it's quite sensitive. It compliments the Ctek range. **Q: How do you connect this eyelet to battery ? Do you need disconnect battery or can it be fitted or removed with disconnecting battery** A: You should not have to disconnect the battery terminals . Just remove the 10mm nut from the clamp bolts and then fit eyelet to bolts and refit 10mm nuts .
