Lovely Glasses but OMG Heavy

We have quite a lot of glassware from this company as it reflects a style we like without being overly expensive. In our collection we have glasses from this range but with a more open rim. More like a large Martini glas. These looked to be a great match but with a balloon bowl. The first impression was quite good. The design was as expected and they had no obvious faults. The snag came when we first used them. The design has a rather small diameter base and the base on these seems to be a little more rounded than our other glasses which makes for an even smaller diameter on the surface. Add that to the large bowl and the glass is rather top heavy. Fortunately the bowl has a large capacity soma reasonable glass of wine means it is no more than one third full. An additional small minus is that the very rounded bowl means that it hits ones nose when tipped to get the last drop out !!! We really like the glasses and will likely buy a couple more but doubt they will be used much with guests as the slightest knock could result in a bright red table cloth and a broken glass. Update We haver bought a couple more.
