Wouldn't it be a disadvantage? Darts will "pop out" and not stick as opposed to flight popping out** A: Darts generally fly better with flights on, hence the desire by most to have them securely fitted to the shaft, repeated removal and installation prematurely wears our the flights and shafts. **Q: Will it work for aluminum shafts?** A: No, it's too hard to push the flight into the shaft. **Q: Does this work with a variety of stem rings or are they viper specific?** A: Yes it does ..... works on all flights and stems except aluminum but any brand of your choosing **Q: Does it come with stem rings** A: It comes with 3 sets of rings - 3 rings for each set = 9 rings listed in the posting. You can buy more if you like them or sell it to somebody whoe wants to use them. I switched to the fit flights/shafts and have never looked back but they are pretty expensive. Better to stick with standard flights and use these rings if your not to serious about playing. Best thing is the thick metal flights and buy the dart holder case to keep your flight from folding/bending as well. Amazon has the different colored plastic single set dart cases These work with titanium, aluminum and steel tip darts. some people have said they dont work with aluminum or titanium - total bunk information. You cannot tell if they will work because some are slimmer or fatter near the end. If the flight doesnt fit you can clip the end of the point off the flight to make it slide down farther to a fatter part. You can even clip it farther up the flight with it folded then re punch, may have to make a point and then clip it and then cut it shorter to allow the ring to slide and stop on the shaft. L style shafts have special hole totally different than the round ring and will not work without their proprietary L-style L-SHafts and L-style Champagne Rings and does not work this ring and clipper system - i used and did not like the L style and my flights kept coming off while throwing losing games. Run with sasquatch on this punch tool and 9 rings if you want to keep your dart flights from coming off no matter plastic, aluminum, titanium or brass shaft because they will work with standard 4 split flight shaft. These are for you annd runn with sasquatch if your are not serious yet or dont think you will be but want to keep flight on well. The viper flight punnch and ring setup is great - you can also pucnch the flight, set the ring inside the hole, slide it onto the shaft till it bottoms and then glue the ring to the shaft to keep it from backing out - hitting the floor can cause it to back out by being jarred. This way you dont have to glue the 4 way flight shaft to all the plastic flights inside and ruin the flight becuase the ring only would be temporarily glued to the flight shaft.
