A: It's because this adds to the difficulty of solving the puzzle.  Hint: two of those corner pieces go together on the edge of the puzzle. Good luck!

A: Yes, I experienced a bit of wiggle as well. I believe it is because of the nature of cutting the material that the pieces simply won't press-fit together the same way a cardboard cut puzzle would.
