Review: AWESOME trail runners! - Been using On trail runners for years, but totally hate all of their new re-designs that I tried, and started looking for another brand. I do a lot of running in mud/snow/ice and wanted something with a lot of grip/teeth on the bottom and these looked perfect. First run I was AMAZED. I purposely tried a rough trail to test them out, and they totally held their grip every steep icy & snow covered trail I could throw at it, no additional traction was needed at all. With the new On shoes I would have needed micro spikes. Super happy with how they hold up on trails. Was a little worried about the lacing system, but I love that too. Super easy to use and tightens up perfectly. They come on and off like slippers. Very comfortable, and seem to hold up in the cold really well. Was trekking through knee-deep snow with them and had no issues at all. Love these shoes, PLEASE do not change the design hahah. Review: Salomon for life - This is my second pair of Salomon Speed Cross trail runners. I use them for hiking and not running . First I had the 4 and bought the 6 bc of the wider toe box to protect my toes on the downhill part of the hikes. I’ll seriously never use another hiking shoe bc I love these so much. The tread is awesome, the sole is comfortable even up to 8 miles, and me feet are sissies. I mean. If my feet are happy, it’s a really good shoe! But let me tell you a few things that make the shoe even better. 1-get some hiking socks as well. They feel a bit sloppy wearing a regular old Nike sock if the trail is really steep. 2-I got shorter laces bc after tightening the ones they come with, they’re a mile long. They’re also so thin it’s hard to get your fingers under to loosen them, etc 3-this also makes it so you don’t have to use the lace garage on the shoe. When you’re wearing a size 6 1/2, the laces cross over the garage. So there’s no stuffing the laces in. Maybe that works better if you’re wearing a size 9 shoe. Also, some reviewers have said they fit small. They fit me exactly like they should. I wear a 6.5 in everything, and these as well. And they fit exactly the same way as the 4 did.
