Review: Will outlive me…amazing quality, great investment! - I would say this is for someone with a gas stove and wants to invest and lives in the cold north and has an interest in experimenting (at least in the beginning) and has some patience. I am not an advance cook, but I can hold my own. I use this 2X week in the winter. The seal will take some time to indent and will eventually have memory - but it will become easy to seal. In the meantime, simply use you fingernails to check & see if opposite sides of the top are equal distance from the pot and invest in taking the time up front to seal appropriately. I am old enough to refuse cheap products (when possible) and have many products from years past - including my home. This is amazing quality and will outlive me for sure. You can also easily purchase replacement products too. This product is a favorite and a part of my world, it is an important part of my kitchen life and it brings so many delicious dishes to my family! I don’t think all Americans recognize the quality because it is not an insta-pot as I see some negative reviews and also some common mistakes. Good luck.

**Q: Can this be used to pressure fry chicken?**
A: Yes you can. Magefesa actually used to recommend this for pressure frying and included a recipe for pressure fried chicken with the instruction manual. Silicone gasket will NOT melt. They more than likely do not recommend pressure frying anymore because people don’t pay attention and you must not be distracted by cell phone etc when using. Like others have said. Use common sense and don’t take advise from those who have never done it. I have well over a thousand times. I have the 6 and the 8 quart. I love my 6 quart for 4 pieces (2 people) and 8 quart for 6 pieces. Best of luck this is a superior product. All magefesa products are fine quality.

**Q: How do you get a seal on this thing? No matter how tight I tighten it, it leaks steam from the sides**
A: You have to turn the triangle shaped handle on top as hard as you can.  It has to be very tight or it leaks.  Also, there should be a clear rubber gasket in the lid.  All the steam should shoot out of the pressure valve.  It took us a few tries before we got the hang of it.

**Q: Is the bottom of the 12 quart the same as the 10 quart?**
A: Similar

**Q: How do you know when the cooker has come up to pressure?**
A: Good morning,

As soon as you see steam coming from your pressure cooker, that is the when you know that the pressure cooker has built presurre, and is ready.

When you see steam coming, you put the fire down, that will keep the liquid inside and your food tasty.

If you keep the fire up after steam is coming, the liquid will evaporate and wont cook you meal properly.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Needs to be tightened all the way, then works great

The first times I used it, I did not tighten the knob hard enough, steam escaped and the pressure did not build up. Later on, I figured out that the knob has to be turned tight all the way, and it worked fine ever since then. It requires some force that I hope I will still have when I am 80. Other than that, I am quite happy with it.
