Review: Beautiful Gold Fondant - This product was so much better than I expected and did not create an off flavor. I mixed with Everclear and was able to paint it onto the cake without any issues. It dried quickly and adhered very well. I did follow a recommendation from another cake creator who suggested to color the fondant with gold food coloring prior to applying a gold paint. The gold food coloring just creates a warm yellow colored underbase to help hide blend in any areas with lighter coverage or bare spots. I used the Americolor gold.
