If you’re like me I clay once a year so I never really have a build up. If you only clay once every few year I would use the standard bar. **Q: Can the clay surface be cleaned after use?** A: Just use soapy water for the lubricant and the cleaner. **Q: Can I use this with Mequiars gold car wash with this?** A: My answer would be yes, using the car wash as a lubricant and not letting anything dry on the car, always keep the car wet and sudsy **Q: Is this for clay or the cleaning pad? The pictures look like it is for the cleaning pad** A: It's a cleaning pad with a synthetic clay black pad that is supposed to help attract and trap tiny particles. It's designed to be used after washing your car prior to applying wax or "ceramic" coatings. ## Frequently Bought Together - Griot's Garage Brilliant Finish Synthetic Clay for Car Detailing, Creates a Smooth Paint Surface and Lasts Longer Than Traditional Bars, 10691 - Griot’s Garage Ceramic 3-in-1 Wax, SiO2 Spray for Cars, Trucks, and RV’s, Provides Protection and Water Beading on Paint, Wheels, Plastic, Rubber Trim, Chrome, and More, 10978, 22 oz - Griot's Garage 10945 Ceramic Speed Shine 22oz – Ceramic Quick Detailer & Clay Lubricant, Clean Your Vehicle While Appling Additional SiO2 Protection, Safe on All Existing Ceramic Coatings --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.co.za/products/46788857-brilliant-finish-synthetic-clay-for-car-detailing-creates-a-smooth](https://www.desertcart.co.za/products/46788857-brilliant-finish-synthetic-clay-for-car-detailing-creates-a-smooth) --- *Product available on Desertcart South Africa* *Store origin: ZA* *Last updated: 2026-10-06*
