Review: Super curl bar seems to be good enough - The bar has end caps covering a standard bolt end. I got it and the sleeves kinda stuck and seemed super low end. I pulled off the retaining rings and the end caps then removed the standard barbell bolts and washers underneath the end caps. I pulled off the sleeves and rubbed off the chrome dust and flakes and manufacturing stuff that was stuck inside. I covered the bushings with 3 in 1 oil and reassembled the sleeves. The sleeves spin as well as they can now. The knurling goes slightly under the bushings so it doesn't spin great but it works. The knurling is passive but goes over most of the curves so it works well enough. I got the bar at a great price so I think this bar is pretty good. Review: Perfect - Perfect ## Features - SUPER CURL DESIGN FOR TARGETED ARM TRAINING – The aggressively angled Super Curl profile positions your hands in a more natural, semi-parallel grip for curls, extensions, and other arm exercises. The unique design emphasizes biceps, forearms, and triceps while promoting a comfortable lifting position compared to traditional straight bars. - SMOOTH REVOLVING SLEEVES FOR FLUID LIFTS – Precision-engineered bronze bushings allow the sleeves to rotate independently from the bar shaft for smooth, consistent plate rotation. This design promotes fluid movement during every repetition while helping reduce stress on the wrists and elbows compared to fixed-sleeve bars. - 500 LB CAPACITY WITH SOLID STEEL CONSTRUCTION – Crafted from solid steel with a 51,000 PSI tensile strength, this Super Curl Bar is built for dependable performance during demanding strength training. Finished with a corrosion-resistant chrome coating and engineered to support up to 500 lb for a wide range of upper-body exercises. - NON-SLIP DIAMOND KNURLING FOR SECURE GRIP– Equipped with 13.7 inches of medium-depth diamond knurling on each side of the shaft. The textured pattern provides a secure, non-slip grip exactly where your hands naturally rest, ensuring maximum control during sweaty bicep curls, tricep extensions, and skull crushers. - FITS ALL 2-INCH OLYMPIC WEIGHT PLATES – Designed with 2-inch Olympic sleeves for compatibility with all standard Olympic weight plates and collars to fit seamlessly into your home gym set up. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Perfect *by A***R on September 16, 2026* Perfect ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Solid Budget Curl Bar After Some Tweaks *by M***I on October 9, 2025* It's hard to go wrong with a curl bar for ~$40. I got the Elite with chrome finish. The knurling was more aggressive than what I expected for a budget bar, a pleasant surprise. It's actually sharper than the volcano knurling on the REP multi-grip cable attachment that I have. A assume they knurled the bar this way so the knurling would be still be reasonably effective when it's painted over for the black version. As other reviewers have commented, the sleeves squeaked and made a lot of noise out of the box. I disassembled the sleeves, cleaned out any metal dust in bushings and applied some synthetic grease. No noise any more. One downside of the knurling is that it actually extends 2 inches past the brass bushings in the sleeves. It will wear down the bushings over time as the bushings rotate over the knurling. However, this would likely take thousands of reps. The inner curves of the bar feel good for close grip skull crushers and other triceps exercises. The wider grips are the right width for curls. My bar didn't come with the pictured, cheap, set screw style collars. I would have thrown them away anyway, so no loss. You'll need a set of internal snap ring pliers and a 10 mm hex key to disassemble the sleeves, although I was able to get away with a 3/8" hex key. I was going to ding a star off the review for the knurling that extends under the bushings and the need to disassemble to clean up and lube the bushings, but it's a sub $50 curl bar. With prices rising for even basic workout equipment, this bar is a solid value. ## Frequently Bought Together - CAP Barbell 48-Inch Super Curl Olympic Barbell for 2-Inch Weight Plates | Multiple Options - Clout Fitness Olympic Barbell Clamps Collars Quick Release Pair of Locking Weight Clips Fit 2 Inch Barbell for Weightlifting - CAP Barbell 2-Inch Olympic Weight Plate | Multiple Options --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - πŸ›’ **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** β€” Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** β€” Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - πŸ’° **No Hidden Fees** β€” All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - πŸ”„ **15-Day Free Returns** β€” Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - πŸ”’ **Secure Payments** β€” Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** β€” Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.co.za/products/467242056-48-inch-olympic-super-curl-bar-elite-chrome-500lb-capacity](https://www.desertcart.co.za/products/467242056-48-inch-olympic-super-curl-bar-elite-chrome-500lb-capacity) --- *Product available on Desertcart South Africa* *Store origin: ZA* *Last updated: 2026-10-04*
