Since I've had it I've seen no dust in the air and less dusting. There is dust but not as much. Also my nose isn't as runny. I love this air purifier. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Low level hum ruins and otherwise good air purifier *by on Reviewed in the United States 12 November 2023* I had the previous model, the HPA 100, for my daughter's bedroom and it worked out really well. I went with Honeywell because it seemed to have good features without creating ozone which was important for me. I decided that I wanted to get one for our bedroom too. Lo and behold there was a new version available. The new version is a little slicker looking, though, the clear plastic portion looks a little cheesy / will probably be prone to scratches. It is also a bit more efficient. However, the older model actually may cost less money to run because it uses less electricity / is smaller. This is also a bit bulkier than the old version, though the trade-off is it does purify more air. The real sticking point, though, was the low-level hum that this unit and the bigger models emited. It seems that the actual fan noise might be a little bit lower, and maybe I am just not used to this particular frequency of noise, but I just couldn't get over it. I also tested the noise volume between the new model and old model with a DB app and it did confirm that the new model was about 5 dB louder. This is in no way a scientific comparison, but it confirmed my anecdotal feelings about it. I have lots of fans, and music products, and none of them emit a hum like this. I usually associate a hum like this with some sort of grounding issue. Ultimately, I was disappointed and I returned it. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Also A Nightlight *by on Reviewed in the United States 28 January 2025* First, I want to start by saying I love this air purifier. It does a great job in keeping our bedroom air clean and has been a great help for my allergies. The replacement filters are a little expensive, but that is true with most quality air purifiers. I have two issues with this purifier that I don't love. First, the clear plastic piece on the back of the top lights up, which highlights how cloudy it gets. A few weeks after I got it it started looking cloudy and I tried to clean it, but haven't found anything that does a good job. Second is that there is no way to get all of the lights to turn off on it. On the control panel there is a light bulb button that will allow you to change the brightness of the controls and indicator, but when you turn them off the lightbulb button itself stays on. Because I have this in the bedroom I find that incredibly annoying and have to keep a cloth on top of it to block the light. I'm not sure that manufacturers know this, but not every single device in our homes should also be a nightlight! ## Frequently Bought Together - Honeywell HEPA Air Purifier for Home, 938 Ft² Rooms in 1 hour, Turbo Clean, Reduces Allergens, Dust, Pollen, Pet Dander, All Smoke Types, Odors, Black, HPA5100B - Honeywell HEPA Air Purifier Filter Kit – Includes 1 HEPA R Replacement Filter and 4 A Carbon Pre-Cut Pre-Filters – Airborne Allergen Air Filter Targets Wildfire/Smoke, Pollen, Pet Dander, and Dust - Honeywell Air Purifier Filter for Pet Odor – Filter S for HPA3000 PowerPlus and HPA5000 Insight Series, HRFSP1 --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.co.za/products/466548728-honeywell-insight-190-medium-large-rooms-hepa-air-purifier-black](https://www.desertcart.co.za/products/466548728-honeywell-insight-190-medium-large-rooms-hepa-air-purifier-black) --- *Product available on Desertcart South Africa* *Store origin: ZA* *Last updated: 2026-10-30*
