**Q: Can the ladder be shortened? I'm looking for a solution for a 24" length opening...**
A: I believe you will need to enlarge the opening because the steps do not collapse to less than 24".

**Q: does this need a separate frame in order to install this?**
A: No it does not, the ladder comes with it's own frame. that can be folded. You will need to have sufficient structural (ex. double 2x wood) support to bolt the ladder to.

**Q: Do you sell the attic door as well? It says it’s sold separately. Can you post a link?**
A: You will need to build your own door,frame,and trim.There are no instructions for this,except a lousy picture

**Q: Can the ladder rungs detach to customize for height**
A: No. My ladder did not land exactly where I wanted it to. I made a Velcro strap to tie two rungs together so it would always end at the right spot.
