I think the last one I bought, from a different manufacturer, came loose in a plastic bag. So hopefully, the fact that they went to that much trouble to put it in a fitted box says something about the quality they put into the gauge itself. If you're like me and have spent a lot of years fixing and working on a lot of different kinds of things from engines to fishing reels and most everything in between, then you know when you pick up a part, or a tool of some kind, that good parts and good tools have a much different feel to them than the cheap ones do. I am not a gauge expert, but this feels and looks like a good part to me. Maybe you will understand what I mean. It feels heavy for it's size and tight. I installed it on my swimming pool pump and it's doing its job very well. But these cheaper gauge versions should be removed after any adjustments and the resulting open fitting plugged to eliminate the possibility of corrosion of steel parts producing a leak.
