They are plug and play style so my thoughts are that they are not waterproof. There are openings where water could get in so I’m pretty sure they are not. **Q: Are these cool touch or do they get hot?** A: To answer this question I just walked up to mine which have been on all day and touched one and there is so little heat coming from the light that I would almost just say there is no heat coming from it at all. I used Barrina T5s to light a large houseplant collection in a basement with absolutely no windows or natural light, and they worked incredibly well. I had them mounted across multiple shelves with everything from Alocasias and Philodendrons to Monsteras, Begonias, Hoyas, succulents, and propagations growing underneath them. These weren’t just supplemental lights either — they were essentially the only light source for many of my plants, and I was able to maintain a huge, healthy collection with consistent growth.
