However, the fan motor I ended up installing had a **built-in capacitor**, which meant I didn’t need this standalone part. Instead, I wired the motor directly into the dual-run capacitor using the standard C, FAN, and HERM terminal layout. This worked flawlessly and simplified the system wiring. That’s the key takeaway for buyers: newer fan motors often include internal capacitors, so before sourcing a separate one, check your motor’s spec label or wiring diagram. If your system uses an older motor, this 5µF capacitor appears reliable and well-suited for run/start support. Even though it was returned unused, the build quality and delivery experience made a positive impression. If I were working on a legacy unit again—or troubleshooting a standalone fan circuit—this would be on my shortlist
