Tetra SafeStart can prevent “nitrite peaks” which typically occur when a biological balance has not been reached in an aquarium and toxic nitrite can't be broken down fast enough. Bought to kick-start an aquarium, I have used it in the past and it works.Though I don't think I would ever trust it to add fish immediately like it claims you can, I'd rather use it as a starter and then wait a week or so and test the tank etc
