My newborn has used it since day 1 at the clinic both at nights and naps, and IT HAS PROLONGED HER SLEEP. We’ve also used it to soothe her, with amazing results. It’s magical!!! My baby slept longer stretches of time with the swaddle on vs. without. And this was the only swaddle that did the trick. We tried dozens! But baby always managed to get the arms out and wake up. So you can extend its use to 5-6 months - DON’T HAVE TO UNSWADDLE FOR DIAPER CHANGE. Two way-zipper has come in super handy when a diaper change was needed in the middle of the night. And a nice detail: the zipper is covered at the end so it doesn’t make contact with baby’s chin. They’ve really thought of everything!
