I've always carried a Kershaw, so that's my basis of comparison. Never heard of Lothar, but I'm genuinely and sincerely impressed. This knife feels robust with a surprising weight that immediately communicates quality, at least as a first impression. The blade opens nearly as quick as my Kershaw spring assist. It opens incredibly smoothly with those bearings and best of all: no lateral play! The blade is rock steady. The only thing I'm not a big fan of is the handle material. It was advertised as non slip, but it doesn't really feel like that. I'm tempted to find a better material and make some replacements, but even still, it's not enough to even dock a star. Superb value. My concern is that the quality of these knives will start to go down, as most things do, so get this beauty while they're still good!
