Wallbox's own support team confirmed it's a hardware problem but said their manufacturer warranty is calculated from the date the unit was dispatched to desertcart, not my actual purchase date — so by their reckoning it had "expired" despite me being well within 3 years of buying it. desertcart, meanwhile, only offer 2 years of cover on electronics and refused to help, repeatedly pointing me back to the manufacturer. I've been passed back and forth between the two with neither taking responsibility, despite this being a confirmed hardware defect on a product that should reasonably last far longer than 2-3 years given the price point.
