I've tried insoles with various shoes in the past and I've always felt like they make my shoes too tight, but I decided to give these a try anyway. And wow, so far so good! I think the extra space in my training shoes allows the insoles to fit a little better. They're so much more comfortable now, but these insoles are low-profile enough that they don't feel like they're negatively impacting the stability of the shoe. They were just a smidge tricky to insert since they're kind of sticky, but that in turn means they stay in place well once you get them installed. They took a minute to get used to just because I'm so accustomed to the flat interior of my shoes, but then the comfort kicked in.
