## Description

The Pentair Pentek C1-20BB is a dual-purpose replacement cartridge for 20-inch Big Blue filter housings, combining sediment filtration and chlorine taste and odor reduction in a single filter. Built with powdered activated carbon (PAC) impregnated cellulose media and nominally rated at 5 microns, it captures fine particulates while reducing chlorine for cleaner, better-tasting water throughout your home.With a chlorine reduction capacity of over 40,000 gallons at 4 gpm, the C1-20BB delivers long filter life and low operating cost. The polyethylene outer netting provides additional dirt-holding capacity and structural support, while the polypropylene core keeps pressure drop to just 2 psi at 4 gpm. Operating temperature range is 40-125 degrees F.IMPORTANT: The C1-20BB uses cellulose-based media and is designed for use with chlorinated water supplies only. **Q: Is this tha same as am. plumber w5cip478?**
A: Yes, this is the same filter, it just has a different brand name on the label.   Both brands (American Plumber and Pentek) are owned by Pentair.

**Q: What size are the inlet and outlet nipples?**
A: I really don't know.  They fit the filter canister that I bought from my plumber.

**Q: I have a model ccf-201 ametek filter system.  what filter will be great to replace the cartridges with?**
A: Probably best to go to the manufacturer's website and see what they recommend

**Q: What is the carbon made from? What is the cellulose powder made from?**
A: We use the C1-20 Carbon filter in our ware treatment system for our summer cabin. It is one of 4 filters, plus a UV-Light.  I assume the carbon filter is some sort of activated carbon for controlling the taste of the water. Lov2Read
