Offering such classics as "The Snow Queen," "The Nightingale," and "The Wild Swan," this masterful collection showcases Clarke's peerless artistry as he highlights the mythic and uncanny qualities of Andersen's timeless stories. This stunning book will be a welcome addition to any discerning library, private or public. Review: DON'T LISTEN TO OLD REVIEW, DIFFERENT EDITION! - Another GORGEOUS (and affordable!) antique-book reproduction from Calla Editions by Dover-- it's lusciously illustrated with both pen and ink drawings and full-page colored plates. The other review on here, titled "disappointing" (which gives it 3 stars) is meant for a different edition--one from 2010-- 7 years before this edition was printed! In-depth details: light blue, clothbound covers; the pictoral pastedown on the front cover is black, blue and ivory; navy blue ink stampings on front cover and spine; illustrated endpapers; blank back cover. A puzzling but impressive detail is that every single page of text is printed on the same stiff, high-gloss paper typically reserved for color-plates. This is strange but great as it will hold up better over time, will resist yellowing or staining, and is acid free. Pretty cool. Review: Beautiful illustrations, really nice book thank you! - Beautifully bound and high quality illustrations ## Technical Specifications | Specification | Value | |---------------|-------| | Best Sellers Rank | #1,227,445 in Books ( See Top 100 in Books ) #11,099 in Folklore (Books) | | Customer Reviews | 4.3 out of 5 stars 40 Reviews | ## Images ![Fairy Tales by Hans Christian Andersen (Calla Editions) - Image 1](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/81Nxxh6it9L.jpg) ![Fairy Tales by Hans Christian Andersen (Calla Editions) - Image 2](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/51v3e55NO3L.jpg) ![Fairy Tales by Hans Christian Andersen (Calla Editions) - Image 3](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/51xJ6pVW93L.jpg) ![Fairy Tales by Hans Christian Andersen (Calla Editions) - Image 4](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/51SqKfTFeEL.jpg) ![Fairy Tales by Hans Christian Andersen (Calla Editions) - Image 5](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/51F-6g9D92L.jpg) ## Available Options This product comes in different **Media Format** options. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ DON'T LISTEN TO OLD REVIEW, DIFFERENT EDITION! *by C***W on August 29, 2017* Another GORGEOUS (and affordable!) antique-book reproduction from Calla Editions by Dover-- it's lusciously illustrated with both pen and ink drawings and full-page colored plates. While Clarke's work is great and the book features a lot of it, the pictures are blurry and indistinct. The format of the book could also be bigger. Considering the incredible amount of detail in Clarke's work it's a complete waste to print a book that doesn't let you see it all. --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.co.za/products/44519722-fairy-tales-by-hans-christian-andersen-calla-editions](https://www.desertcart.co.za/products/44519722-fairy-tales-by-hans-christian-andersen-calla-editions) --- *Product available on Desertcart South Africa* *Store origin: ZA* *Last updated: 2026-10-05*
