I bought this for my 4yr old grandson’s birthday last year. He loves his Hot Wheels and Matchbox cars & trucks. He loved this set and still has fun with it a year later. To answer your question, I think kids up to age 10 would have lots of fun with this toy. I think kids older than 10 would probably like a more advanced set.
