I gave it a rinse and tried it with my post millennium Pavoni. First things first, it affected the temperature. It's a reasonable chunk of metal in the group head so it took the overall temperature down quickly. I also felt there was a slightly metallic taste to the first few shots. However, I did notice I was getting lots of lovely crema and a balanced flavour. From using it a few days now, I pop it in my espresso cup with some hot water to preheat both puck screen and cup. It's perfectly nice, but I don't know if it actually does anything. Maybe that's down to my ineptitude in coffee making skills but now it just sits sadly on top of my coffee machine in its plastic box, looking at me. I'll probably try it again one day and see if it changes anything.
