Highly recommended. Review: Great quality. Amazing unsmoked smooth flavor - I am from Argentina and love mate. I can honestly say that this is one of the best I have ever had. It smells great, and tastes delicious. It doesn’t have the strong, Smoky flavor than many brands have. It’s very smooth and not better.. Also, for the Argentinians, notice that the yerba is imported from Argentina 😊 ## Features - CERTIFIED ORGANIC YERBA MATE FROM ARGENTINA: Grown on our multi-generation organic family farm in Argentina, this traditional yerba mate is USDA Organic, Non-GMO, Kosher, and Gluten-Free. A clean, authentic South American staple made from Ilex paraguariensis. - UNSMOKED (AIR DRIED) FOR A CLEANER TASTE: Unlike smoked varieties, ECOTEAS yerba mate is gently air dried instead of wood smoked. This preserves its natural flavor and avoids heavy smokiness, resulting in a smooth, earthy cup. - TRADITIONAL CUT – LEAF, STEM & POWDER: This classic Argentine blend includes leaf, stem (con palo), and natural powder for a balanced, full-bodied brew. Ideal for bombilla and gourd, French press, tea infuser, or percolator. - NATURALLY CAFFEINATED FOR STEADY ENERGY: Yerba mate contains naturally occurring caffeine. Brewing strength determines caffeine level - use 1 tablespoon for a lighter cup or 2 tablespoons for a stronger preparation. Many enjoy it as a smooth alternative to coffee. - BREW IT HOT OR COLD: Steep in 170–180°F water for traditional hot mate, or cold brew in water for 20 minutes or longer. Enjoy plain or with citrus, mint, or warming spices for a refreshing daily ritual. ## Technical Specifications | Specification | Value | |---------------|-------| | ASIN | B06XNVRBB4 | | Best Sellers Rank | #8,085 in Grocery & Gourmet Food ( See Top 100 in Grocery & Gourmet Food ) #6 in Mate Tea | | Brand | ECOTEAS | | Brand Name | ECOTEAS | | Container Type | Box | | Customer Reviews | 4.6 out of 5 stars 1,289 Reviews | | Each Unit Count | 1 | | Flavor | Mate | | Item Dimensions | 40 x 60 x 30 inches | | Item Form | Loose | | Item Highlight | Unsmoked traditional cut 1 lb, USDA organic kosher non-GMO gluten free, smooth clean natural caffeine, low acid | | Item Volume | 16 fluid ounces | | Item Weight | 16 ounces | | Model Number | SYNCHKG113752 | | Number of Items | 1 | | Package Size Name | 1 lb Bag | | Part Number | COMINHKG113752 | | Product Benefits | Increase Energy, Support Digestion, Boost Metabolism, Detox | | Recommended Uses For Product | Metabolism, Relaxation, Weight Loss | | Special Ingredients | Organic Yerba Mate | | Specialty | Gluten Free, Kosher, Natural, Organic | | Sweetness Description | Not Sweet | | Tea Variety | Yerba Mate | | UPC | 819162005019 | | Unit Count | 16 Ounce | ## Product Details - **Brand:** ECOTEAS - **Flavor:** Mate - **Item Form:** Loose - **Tea Variety:** Yerba Mate - **Unit Count:** 16 Ounce ## Images ![ECOTEAS Organic Yerba Mate Loose Tea Traditional Cut 1 lb Bag Pack of 1 - Image 1](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/81yJdCBSk1L.jpg) ## Available Options This product comes in different **Size** options. ## Questions & Answers **Q: How many net crabs are in a serving?** A: I haven't netted any crabs, so there are none to serve. It's tea, after all, with no nutritional value. There are many healthy reasons to drink this tea. I actually use it to settle my stomach. **Q: As someone who hasn't had Mate in a few years, should I get the loose leaf or traditional cut? I don't know the flavor difference.** A: Traditional cut is with stems and not as strong. Whole leaf is a lot stronger without the stems. I like the Traditional cut as a everyday drinker of Mate. I would recommend the Traditional if you have not drank it in a while. I add a little nutmeg or I let some Orange peel dry out on my countertop and break it up into little pieces into my Mate. It’s yummy! Enjoy! **Q: Does this have high caffeine? I have anxiety and tend to stay away from caffeine** A: Yerba Matte does contain caffeine however it is a metabolic stimulator as opposed to a central nervous system stimulator. It is good for people trying to wean themselves from coffee. If you are sensitive to caffeine, this may not be the optimal choice, however I am very sensitive to caffeine and I can enjoy yerba matte once in a while. I don't steep it long at all, unlike traditional matte that can be brewed all day. You might also consider something completely caffeine free like a rooibos tea which is full bodied more similar to the black tea we are accustomed to, or a chamomile tea, a relaxing herbal tea. Blessings to you. **Q: Can you add the tea to smoothies?** A: Are you asking if you can add the whole tea leaf or rather a brewed cup? I suppose you can add anything you want to a smoothie, but I don't think the actual leaf would add anything to a smoothie. However, since many companies have added mate to various drink mixes I would think that mixed right it would be a good addition, might even try it. So can you add mate.....................sure, why not. Mate strawberry banana.................hmmm sounds good. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Good for the value *by M***A on August 23, 2026* Organic, excellent quality and flavor.
