So 365 Tarot spreads sounded over the top to me. I’m on a budget, and though I’m a glutton for books and decks, I limit myself to those I can’t do without and this one turned out to be irresistible. The question is the key ingredient to a good Tarot card reading, these questions are about as juicy as it gets. If you are brand-new to Tarot this is not the book for you. As a beginner, you should start out by pulling one card a day and keeping a journal. Once past the stage of the beginner it's time for a book like this one to help you spread your creative wings. There are spreads that include Animals and Cinema, Fairy Tales and Finance. There is a Lawsuit spread, and a Celebrate Like a Queen Birthday Spread. There is a Limiting Belief spread and a Party Planning Spread and my favorite so far, the Hidden Desire spread. There is a chapter for each month and a spread for each day, but you are free to just jump into the inspiring index and choose a spread at will. If there were 10 stars I'd give it a 10 Review: Wonderful for helping a beginner with the biggest tarot hurdle - I bought this book for my (still) early exploration into Tarot. One of the hardest things for me to do as a beginner was decide what to ask the cards beyond the basic spreads which come in the book with your deck. This book is tremendously helpful in that regard. The spreads vary in size and scope. I don't always have time for a nine or ten card spread, so it's nice to have some five and six card options. While some of the questions become a bit repetitive, you can always find a different spread to try. The intros for each day's spread are almost always interesting. The individual card info on each page is really tremendous and has offered unique insight on many occasions. My only complaint is that because I like the aforementioned card info so much, I wish it were indexed but it's not, so you have to get lucky to find info which matches. The titles of the spreads may sound a bit "trendy" but they go deeper than meets the eye. Sasha Graham was very creative in crafting this book. She found an interesting event specific to each day of the year, chose a Tarot card that aligned with it - defined the card on that particular page, then illustrates the layout - and asks the deeper questions of life in most of the spreads. SO, even though the spread titles can seem a wee bit trite or trendy, dig more deeply, READ the significance of the spread and the ensuing questions. There's a plethora of spreads from which to chose and a large surplus of categories from which to choose.
