The following morning, i was on the water and the motor pulls an 18 ft skiff (carolina skiff jvx18) with ease and steering is great with the remote, although I will be getting the foot control as it definitely easier to handle while fishing. A few tips: 1) Get at least a 100ah battery I got an AGM group 31 and it ran this motor all day with out skipping a beat, and was still running full speed at the end of the day. 2) Make sure all electrical connections are good **Carolina skiff pre-rig trolling motor receptacles suck** 3) Measure 5 times and drill once. I ended up drilling an extra mounting hole that there was no possible way to get to the bottom of the screw 4) You MUST install the bolts from the top, with the nut on the bottom side, otherwise the side covers will not go on (learned this the hard way).
