FoamTouch upholstery foam is made of Polyurethane. High Density foam has a compression rate (ILD) of 44 lbs. ILD is a unit of measurement and refers to the number of pounds (lbs) of pressure or force that is needed to indent foam to a depth of 4” by 25%. This test is performed on an area of 50 square inches. High density foam is designed for that firm feeling for those who do not want to sink into their couch. FoamTouch has 100% recovery rate, 5-7 years durable and suitable for long-term use. All foam sheets are sold per sheet, not per yard, and rolled for packaging. Foams are rolled under pressure to fit the box. The foam packages need to be opened immediately once you receive them. Do not let the foam sit unopened for more than 1 week. It probably depends if they are too thick or too wide. If you are having trouble getting your cover over the foam put the foam in a plastic bag slip your cover over it you can leave the plastic on it or pull it off and then zip it shut. **Q: With this type of cushion material is it best to flip and turn regularly to extend its firmness or leave it alone in one position?** A: I bought mine in the summer of 2016. I flip them occasionally. They are holding up very well. I am very pleased with the quality. **Q: Is it slow rising?** A: I would say yes. It does compress when you sitand rise when you stand. It comes back in a reasonable fashion. **Q: Can you cut this to fit your sofa cushions?** A: I found that this was close enough to my standard size cushions that just stuffing it into the pillowcase was enough to disguise any difference in sizes.
