I miss having a side pocket but they fit so well I can overlook it. Due to other reviews I decided to go with an XL but it ended up being too big... I can still wear them but the large fits best - so I would say they are true to size. What I love about these this is that they have plenty of room for booty and thick thighs but aren't gaping at the waist like so many others.
