If you're not familiar with this knife, it's thinner than a standard linerlock because it has no covers or bolsters so the liner is the outside of the knife. This design can also be seen in a Gerber STL 2.0. The thin profile makes it much more pocketable. I didn't look up the steel, but it's reasonably hard but not as hard as the old Buck fixed blades and classic lock backs. It has a good balance between durability and sharpening ease. I lost one for a year outdoors (Southern California) and when I found it it had one small and very faint rust discoloration that wiped right off. (And it wasn't on the blade.) It's a good value at this price and would provide me with many decades of use if I could only keep track of it.
