Most products (including shampoos) are going to irritate their skin- Even the “oatmeal skin soothing” ones. You need to try to find what’s causing the allergies and talk to your vet about a round of medications (oral and/or topical) to help clear it up and give your dog some relief. I’d start by washing all of your bedding, blankets, whatever in a fragrance free laundry detergent. Unplug/stop using any air fresheners, essential oil diffusers (toxic to pets anyway), febreze, and anything else of the sort. DO NOT use any human products on them unless your vet specifically says to- Benadryl is an exception to this and can help with allergies. If you bathe your dog, only use warm water while they have flare ups. You can put something like coconut oil (unrefined, unbleached, cold pressed) on as a moisturizer to stave off dry skin.
