This past week, I started getting the painful scratchy throat and fever chills, but couldn't find my extract and Amazon didn't carry extract, so thought I'd order this. I've got a pretty strong immune system, but by the time this arrived (1 day), I had most of the symptoms of a cold.I took 2 in the afternoon, then 2 more in the evening, and already was feeling better. By the 2nd day, the cold symptoms were almost gone, but I still had the sore throat and some mucus. By day 3, all symptoms were gone.It worked for me.I have NO idea why echnacea works for colds, but it does if you catch the symptoms within the first 48 hours, or as close to the very beginning as you can. I read that it works by building your own immune system up to fight the cold off yourself. This makes sense, since there are so many different strains of colds/flu you can get, that it's got to be triggering your own immune system and not directly attacking the virus.Anyway, I was happy about the low price compared to even regular decongestant, which I also bought, paid more for than this.... and never needed at all. Very happy I tried this!
